چکیده

In this paper we develop the prerequisites of a processing strategy to be employed in a networked machine translation environment. Networked Machine Translation (NMT) is a new MT paradigm based on the recent and emerging developments in the field of information technology (IT), World Wide Web (WWW) technology and language technology (LT), in particular networked computing. This new MT paradigm aims at combining the different technologies in an integrated way to achieve a better translation throughput in terms of translation quality and translation processing speed. The basic methodology of NMT is the deployment of cooperating and communicating software agents which make use of local and distributed information resources (different types of MT systems, language resources, user parameter, evaluation and verification parameters, and so forth) that are based on agreed standards (especially information exchange formats). The language resources of this new kind of MT software are intended to be shareable with other network-based language technology applications and services such as multilingual search engines, text retrieval, information brokering and telematics services. NMT can be deployed in intranet applications (corporate networks based on Internet and World Wide Web technologies) and is thus open to general translation services to the public users through the Internet.

The Correlation of Machine Translation Evaluation Metrics with Human Judgement on Persian Language

Machine Translation Evaluation Metrics (MTEMs) are the central core of Machine Translation (MT) engines as they are developed based on frequent evaluation. Although MTEMs are widespread today, their validity and quality for many languages is still under question. The aim of this research study was to examine the validity and assess the quality of MTEMs from Lexical Similarity set on machine tra...

The TÜBİTAK statistical machine translation system for IWSLT 2012

We describe the TÜBİTAK submission to the IWSLT 2012 Evaluation Campaign. Our system development focused on utilizing Bayesian alignment methods such as variational Bayes and Gibbs sampling in addition to the standard GIZA++ alignments. The submitted tracks are the ArabicEnglish and Turkish-English TED Talks translation tasks.

Stabilization of Networked Control Systems with Variable Delays and Saturating Inputs

In this paper, improved conditions for the synthesis of static state-feedback controller are derived to stabilize networked control systems (NCSs) subject to actuator saturation. Both of the data packet latency and dropout which deteriorate the performance of the closed-loop system are considered in the NCS model via variable delays. Two different techniques are employed to incorporate actuator...

This paper introduces the system and its evaluation for answering world history essay questions by utilizing linked open data which assists machine translation. Since the target questions are the world history subject of the entrance examination of the University of Tokyo, most answers can be found in the Japanese world history textbooks. However, an equivalent content of high-quality English t...

CrowdLang: A Programming Language for the Systematic Exploration of Human Computation Systems

Human computation systems are often the result of extensive lengthy trial-and-error refinements. What we lack is an approach to systematically engineer solutions based on past successful patterns. In this paper we present the CrowdLang1 programming framework for engineering complex computation systems incorporating large crowds of networked humans and machines with a library of known interaction...
